PRAYER TO OUR LADY HEALER OF HEARTS

(Recited daily by members of the Society of Our Lady Healer of Hearts.)

Leader: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

All: Amen

Leader:  Most holy, immaculate Virgin Mary,

             Obtain for us from Jesus the gift of a new heart:

             a heart open and obedient to God's Word;

             a heart simple as a child's;

             a heart bold in sacrifice;

             a chaste heart;

             a thankful heart;

             a compassionate heart;

             a heart like yours,

Enfold us in your mercy, dear Mother,

              and all who seek your help

              - children and young people,

              - the sick and the suffering,

              - the forgotten and the poor of this world.

                Join your prayers to our petitions.

             May a remembrance of your love and beauty

             touch and heal our hearts.

               With all generations,

             we will ever call you blessed, O Mary,

             Our Lady Healer of Hearts

Leader: Let us humbly pray to God our Father, who has done great things for the Blessed Virgin Mary and continues his marvelous works in the Church.

Reader: For the Church, that in unison with Mary it may proclaim the wonderful works of God and make his mercy known to all the nations, for he casts down the mighty from their thrones and raises up the lowly.

Let us pray to the Lord.

All: Lord almighty, hear us.

Reader:       For all the peoples of the earth, that under the impulse of the Holy Spirit they may be gathered into the one people of God under the rule of Christ the King.

Reader:       For harmony among nations, that through the prayers of Our Lady Healer of Hearts, hatred may be laid to rest, wars ended, and all the earth enjoy prosperity and peace.

Reader:      For those who endure illness, poverty, loneliness, imprisonment, or persecution, that the blessed Virgin, the healer of hearts, may strengthen and encourage them with a mother's care.

Reader:       For all members of The Society of Our Lady Healer of Hearts, that, recognizing the unique dignity of the blessed Virgin, we may try to imitate her humility and spirit of service and daily love her more and more.

Leader:       Lord God, through the prayers of blessed Mary, ever Virgin, whom you have given us for our mother, our queen, and the healer of hearts, grant that we too may share in the fullness of your grace.

Leader:       I believe in God,

the Father almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

                  suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died and was buried;

he descended into hell;

on the third day he rose again from the dead;

he ascended into heaven,

                  and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;

from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

 

All:             I believe in the Holy Spirit,

                  the holy catholic Church,

                  the communion of saints,

Concluding Prayers

 

Leader:       Hail, holy Queen,

 

All:             Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

 

 

 Leader:      Pray for us O Holy Mother of God,

 All:            That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.

All:             O God whose only begotten Son by his life, death, and Resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant we beseech thee, that meditating on these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise through the same Christ our Lord. Leader:       O Mary, Healer of hearts, our Mother, live in us; act in us; speak in and through us. Think your thoughts in our minds. Love, through our hearts. Give us your heart with all its dispositions and feelings. Teach, lead and guide us to Jesus. Correct, enlighten and expand our thoughts and behavior. Possess our souls. Rule over our entire personality and lives. Replace our hearts with yours. Incline us to constant adoration and thanksgiving. Pray in us and through us. Let us live in you and keep us in this union of hearts always.
